MURAL festival is THE North-American destination for all things urban art. They are the merging point of creative spirits. They are the festive and innovative soul of a city burning with artistry. Located in the heart of Saint-Laurent boulevard, MURAL’s mission is to democratize urban art. They program is bold and daring and offers the public the opportunity to witness the making of murals in real time, to attend exclusive musical events and unique seminars, to enjoy outdoors exhibitions, various installations and sublime gastronomy, all of it in the streets during the 11 days of the festival. MURAL opens a portal to new artistic dimensions and unites the community around an authentic vision.
Here’s a festival that gives you the best of two worlds: art and music. Although it’s highlighted by the art being put on display in the form of huge murals from multiple different artists, there are also block parties and other shows featuring sets from various musical acts – largely from the electronic world. Local artists like Kaytranada, the Posterz, Da-P and High Klassified and international ones like Dusky represented the musical aspect of the festival. If public art is your thing, you’ll want to walk around St-Laurent for this festival – and we mean that in the literal sense, too, because the boulevard will be closed off for it.
